Whether you are looking for just a little something out of the ordinary or something extraordinary for your own garden or your landscaping project, we can supply unusual plant material that we consider highly desirable because of aesthetic appeal, hardiness, low maintenance, flowering, or other characteristics.

The rest of the story:
Oriental Garden Supply was originally formed because of a great love of Japanese style gardens, their plants, ornaments, and aesthetic appeal. We offer an array of authentic materials to help you realize your garden vision.
We have continued to evolve into a dedicated group of garden enthusiasts who will drop just about everything to talk about, examine, acquire, propagate, or otherwise be involved with really worthwhile plants. What thrills our souls is the variety of nature’s bounty, a plant grown well, and garden features that we would want in our own gardens.
We are primarily a working nursery supplying unusual plant material that we consider worthy of use because of its aesthetic appeal, hardiness, low maintenance, flowering, or other characteristics. We sell to discriminating nurseries, garden centers, landscape professionals, and gardeners looking for that something special. We are secondarily a garden center and, although return customers are always pleased at year-to-year progress in the ‘amenities’, you might consider boots on a rainy day to examine all corners of the property. We currently occupy 8 acres and grow over 25,000 plants, primarily in containers, from rooted cuttings to landscape specimens.
Green Initiatives:
Although it is a bit of a cliché to call us a green business, we take the environment and our impact on it seriously. Over 30 programmable irrigation zones that we adjust for seasonal and plant needs tightly control and reduce water use significantly. In 2008, we installed a geothermal heating system to replace propane and oil heat in our propagation areas and our office and sales area. The system consists of a horizontal loop field and has almost eliminated our burning of propane and oil. We also do our propagation in a greenhouse that has an earth berm and thermal curtain to reduce energy consumption.
Looking to buy?
Come visit the nursery locally or search on our website. We endeavor to keep our plant availability up-to-date, but cannot always do so as promptly as we would like during the busy season. A personal visit to the nursery might also give you a sneak peak at future offerings!
Looking for designs?
Our primary business is growing plants, and do not have a designer on staff at the current time. If you would like suggestions for your landscape, however, it is very helpful if you bring or send pictures, have some idea of what you would like to accomplish, and give us information about your site like how much sun does it get, what kind of soil do you have (e.g., loamy or clay), how does the site drain (is it dry or moist), and if there are wind issues. Help with your selections is best available during the weekday hours.

Need delivery? (retail)
As a guideline, we can deliver most plants within a 20 mile radius of the nursery. A delivery fee will be assessed. We use an enclosed truck to protect their foliage, and can move them to the proposed planting location. The delivery fee generally applies for up to 5 plants up to 25 gallon(trade size). For an additional $20 per plant, we will provide soil amendments, plant them if you’ve dug a hole to our recommended size, and mulch them and stake them if required. Other work will be billed at $75/hour.
We also deliver to other nurseries and garden centers in the Northeast and may be able to include larger plants for a drop charge if we are in your area. We can also use common carrier, weather-allowing. Inquire for availability and pricing.
